Jean BAILLY (born in 1940), French painter born in Algiers. He spent his childhood in Orléans and then lived in Paris until 1966. He devoted himself fully to painting, which he had been practicing since his youth, and quickly found success during his group exhibitions in France and abroad (Germany, China, Japan, Canada, Norway, the Netherlands). But it was also through his personal exhibitions in Kansas (United States), Meudon, Orléans that he was noticed for his great talent. His painting is characterized by great realism and a powerful attention to detail of characters or compositions that, in reality, do not exist. He draws his inspiration from his imagination, which could very well be directly linked to the Middle Ages. His unique touch and extraordinary sensitivity sublimate his compositions. This superb work, an oil on panel from 1982, depicts a still life titled "The Teapot". It is signed by the artist at the bottom left.
