Ameglio Italy October 4, 1897 - 1970 He spent his childhood in the south of France where he taught himself to paint. His first paintings were views of the Mediterranean coast. The subjects then evolved as the artist moved through the regions of France. In Paris, he settled in Montmartre and built a reputation for painting street scenes and urban landscapes. He exhibited for the first time at the Salon in 1938. One of his paintings, Caen Cathedral, received an honourable mention. After the war, he continued to live in Montmartre and exhibited regularly in galleries in Paris and the south of France (Cannes, Nice, Menton).
In October 1969, the Cambacérès gallery (Paris) organized a retrospective of his work. Mério Ameglio died in Montmartre in 1970.
