Superb porcelain statue representing Guanyin, goddess of mercy in the Buddhist tradition of East Asia. This ancient piece, of Chinese or Japanese origin, is finely decorated with relief patterns representing clouds and flowers, symbols of purity and peace. Guanyin is represented here in a meditative position, the features of the face soft and soothing, with a pearl painted in the center of the forehead, evoking spiritual wisdom.
