"Christofle Late 19th Century, Regency Style Champagne Bucket Or Cooler, Nicolas Besnier"
Extremely rare champagne bucket or cooler in the Régence style (1715-1730) in silver-plated metal in perfect condition. It dates from the second half of the nineteenth century and comes from the prestigious workshops of the famous Charles Christofle. The exquisite quality and the great finesse of the chiseling are incomparable with the more recent works of Christofle. Thanks to the significant thickness of the plate, it has no dents caused by the weight of the countless bottles of champagne that it has undoubtedly welcomed during its one hundred and fifty years of existence. The cooler is designed to accommodate both simple bottles and magnum bottles. In the photos you will see a magnum of Piper-Heidsick and a photo showing a simple bottle in the cooler. The style and decoration of the cooler are exact replicas of the decorations used on goldwork from the French Régence period by the great Parisian goldsmiths at the beginning of the eighteenth century, such as Nicolas Besnier (1686-1754).
