"Makila Or Makhila: Traditional Basque Walking Stick"

Beautiful makila or Makhila, traditional walking stick, equipped with a brown horn pommel, a natural carved wooden reed, a quadrilobed point tip and decorated with stamped brass. The leather handle unscrews and reveals a sharp spike, for defense. The pommel on its brass border, is stamped with the traditional motto "nerekin beti xuxen": with me, always straight. It is signed by the craftsman Cassou in Bassussary. Excellent condition, impeccable leather.
