Ivory netsuke depicting a laughing monk lying on a mokugyo (a wooden percussion instrument present in Buddhist temples of the Mahayana tradition). Signed under the base "Rangyoku".
Japan, 19th century.
Good condition, beautiful patina.
Note however the probable lack of two small elements on the edge of the instrument.
