"Large Tsugaru Lacquer Bucket "
This is a large bucket lacquered with the traditional Tsugaru technique, from northern Japan near Aomori. This technique consists of mixing black lacquer and red lacquer then sanding it to obtain a very thin layer with patterns. This bucket was used for floral arrangements. There are a few cracks in the lacquer but no shine.
