Cesare Dell'Acqua, born July 22, 1821 in Piran and died February 16, 1905 in Ixelles, is an Italian painter known for his works of a historical nature. Benefiting from patronage among European aristocrats and sovereigns, he was led to decorate places such as the Miramare castle or the Amerois castle. Settled in Brussels from 1848, he maintained relations with the city of Trieste. His works were presented at exhibitions in Europe, the United States and Australia until the end of the 19th century. At his death, he personified the "old genre" with all its charms. He also left a significant production of watercolors.
