The Roman ateliers in the 19th century produced vases in fine marbles imitating ancient models, much sought after by wealthy American and European travellers. This one in particular takes inspiration from Etruscan models and is made of fine red Levanto marble, from the homonymous town on the Ligurian Riviera of the Cinque Terre, known since Roman times and now practically disappeared.
Good state of preservation, small signs of aging.
