Bronze with black patina representing the wounded panther, Art Deco, signed Louis Carvin (1875-1951) Circa 1930. About: Louis Albert Carvin was admitted to the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he was a student of Emmanuel Frémiet and Georges Gardet. A member of the Society of French Artists, he exhibited at the Salons of this society from the end of the 19th century to 1933. He received an honorable mention in 1894. Specializing in animal sculpture, he took as models deer, does, lions, lionesses, panthers, birds, wolfhounds, sometimes horses, like the group L'Accolade representing a pair of thoroughbreds, published by the JB Paris foundry.
