Maria Assumpció Raventós i Torras is a painter, engraver and tapestry artist born in Barcelona in 1930. She trained at the Sant Jordi School of Fine Arts in Barcelona, where she also worked as a professor of drawing. Highly accomplished across a number of artistic practices, this exceptional artist has exhibited internationally and won numerous prestigious awards, including first prize in engraving at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts (1971), and a gold medal at the Circle of Fine Arts in Madrid to name but a few.
