Nicolas PREVOST was born in Paris at the beginning of the 19th century. A painter of water landscapes, he depicted many landscapes of Switzerland, Doubs and Jura. He took part in the Paris Salon from 1845 to 1847. This painting, dated 1849, presents a beautiful workmanship characterized by an extreme finesse of the touch and a beautiful treatment of light.
