Vladimir Barjansky is a painter of Russian origin born in Odessa and died in Tokyo.
He specialized in costumes and sets for ballet, theater and cinema. He worked in Paris from 1919, creating illustrations for shows and for fashion designers. He left for the United States in 1938, where he worked in Hollywood on films such as Destination Tokyo. A close friend of Rothschild, he frequented European high society and painted a portrait of Queen Elisabeth of Belgium in 1959.
