"Pieta Limoges Enamels On Copper"
Composition like those of the high period where Christ taken down from the cross is going to be placed in the tomb. John, Mary and Mary Magdalene are present… No doubt the artist's desire to show us the filiations between these characters… The magazine Proantic is full of praise for this very old technique. Limoges enamels are real paintings with a depth of their own. This miniature is anonymous, probably 18th century.
