"Set Of Two Turned Boxwood Bottle Containers, Beautifully Patinated By Time "
Before Bakelite or plastic, the solution to create containers for liquid bottles was thick leather or wood for transport, preferably boxwood because of its tight grain which allows threads to be created to screw them in a solid and durable way. And here you have two! They are identical and their bottles have disappeared over time but we know that these containers were perfectly adjusted while offering them a solid "frame" to withstand the jolts in stagecoaches. The lid of one container has a slight crack.
