Circa 1870
Large bronze bust by Jean-Baptiste Auguste Clésinger (1814-1883).
La maison Marnyhac - founded around 1865 - was largely engaged in the production of luxury objects and castings, based on the works of renowned contemporary artists such as Eugène Piat (1827-1903), Alexandre Falguière (1831-1900) and Jean-Baptiste Clésinger. Clésinger participated several times in the Salon de Paris and is represented with several works in the museum.
An identical bust of La dame aux roses is in the Musée d'Orsay.
