Object description :

"Rare Art Nouveau Fireplace Depicting Adam And Eve In The Garden Of Eden, Circa 1900"
Exceptional and rare fireplace for its iconography as well as its quality of execution.

Entirely in statuary Carrara marble, it is treated as a real sculpture while depicting Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
On the left, Adam, represented with subtle musculature and graceful features.
On the right, Eve, represented holding an apple, symbol of temptation and original sin.

We are in the middle of 1900, Art Nouveau is at its peak.
The lintel of the fireplace is decorated with a lush plant motif, representing tree branches with leaves, flowers and a luxuriance that evokes the Garden of Eden. This ornamentation gives an impression of natural richness and depth. The branches seem almost alive, weaving and mingling around the frame, as if to suggest a mythical and heavenly place. This natural exuberance symbolizes abundance and life before sin.
The level of detail in the sculpture is remarkable: the folds of the human body, the texture of the hair, and the natural elements are finely carved.
This demonstrates significant artistic mastery, with particular attention to proportions and details.
The white color of the marble accentuates the purity of the figures and reinforces the idea of paradise lost.
This monochrome adds a timeless touch, emphasizing the finesse of the shapes without distracting with additional colors.

Our fireplace is made in the tradition of Italian workshops that made a point of honor to represent religious and mythological scenes with grandeur and elegance. With its imposing dimensions, this fireplace is a true centerpiece, ideal to become the focal point of a room.
It will fit perfectly in an art nouveau or classic interior, a luxurious living room or an elegant office, where it can be admired as a work of art that tells a deep and symbolic story. It will appeal to lovers of art nouveau, as well as those looking to add a unique piece to their living space.
The finely carved details and the purity of the material make this fireplace a rare, elegant and timeless piece, capable of transforming any interior into a place of prestige and harmony.
