This Sarough rug with floral decoration from Iran, measures 130 cm x 194 cm, is in very good condition and dates from the middle of the 20th century around 1950.
Very durable rug with beautiful colors.
We mainly find an ivory field whose deep wine lees and blues, almond green are applied to large foliage, flowers and palms, some orange-red birds. The nuances are fresh and the thick and soft velvet is in very good condition.
The edges are impeccable.
The rug is abundantly covered with stylized flowers and has well-drawn borders, contrasted in shades of the most beautiful effect.
Kork wool is the softest and silkiest wool taken at the first shearing of lambs, mainly under the neck and belly.
This rug is a beautiful decorative and comfortable piece, the decor is abundant and beautifully stylized, enhanced by a stylized design and high quality kork wool.
The Sarough rug, or Sarouk, the Ecbatana of Antiquity, is knotted in a few villages near Sarouk in the agricultural region of Arak.
European buying houses have had agencies there since the middle of the 19th century.
Most of these rugs are nicknamed hamadan by traders, particularly the runner rugs knotted in this region.
These rugs have distinct identities, our model is of the Sarouk type knotted in the small town of this name but marketed in Hamadan.
These rugs remain very popular in the United States, where decorators appreciate the heavy and large luxurious wool pieces.
Dimensions: Width: 130 cm (51") x Length: 194 cm (76")
This rug has been cleaned in a professional and environmentally friendly manner.
