"Art Deco Signet Ring With Old Cut Diamond And Mystery Set Sapphires On Platinum"
Art Deco ring in platinum (mascaron head hallmark), decorated in its center with an old-cut diamond with an estimated weight of 1.10 carats, bezel-set. All around, are distributed calibrated sapphires cut according to specific shapes aimed at creating a general signet ring shape. These sapphires are set edge to edge, so that no metal appears between them: this is a particularly elaborate setting process, developed by Van Cleef & Arpels in the 1930s, under the name of "Serti Mystérieux". Indeed, nothing seems to hold the stones, unlike the claws and other settings traditionally used in jewelry...... This particularly demanding process constitutes a technical feat applied to beautiful materials and exceptional jewelry. These sapphires are framed by two fine lines of 8/8 cut diamonds according to the custom of the time which draw the outline of the ring. With its sobriety and strong lines, this ring is very representative of Art Deco pieces. Its profile is also chiseled with plant motifs. Its general shape is like Art Deco rings, very flat and hugs the finger, making it a particularly ergonomic jewel. Weight of the central old-cut diamond estimated at approximately 1.10 ct Total weight of the 8/8-cut diamonds estimated at approximately 0.50 ct. Gross weight: 5.35 g Finger size: 52 - adaptation of the finger size to be stretched by our workshop (current diameter 1.66cm / US size 6) Condition: imperceptible micro-scratches on the body of the ring, micro-cracks on the edges of the sapphires not visible when worn, natural inclusions in the stones Possibility of payment entirely remotely via the site.
