"Representation Of Saint Nicholas Delivering The Children – 18th Century"
Saint Nicholas, standing in his bishop's majesty, extends his benevolent hand to deliver three innocent children, depicted in a tub. This is a moving reminder of the miracle in which he resurrected them by snatching them from the darkness of the salting tub. By the grace of his many miracles, he became the protector of the most vulnerable—children and widows—and the Patron Saint of many trades and corporations.
Thus, he watches over boatmen and sailors, guides glaziers, and inspires teachers and lawyers. This 18th-century statue, sculpted in polychrome wood and in the round, expressively captures the gentleness and power of our Holy Man
