Charming composition made in watercolor representing a bouquet of hydrangeas in a cup. Very beautiful colors in pastel tones. It was made by Madeleine Doubrère watercolor artist and bears her signature at the bottom right. Our watercolor is sold in a very beautiful wooden and stucco frame richly carved in the corners, lacquered in old gold color and patinated with wax. The whole is presented under glass. Madeleine Doubrère (1882-1967) was born in Marciac, rue saint Jean, daughter of Pascal Doubrère justice of the Peace and Jeanine Despaux. She was the student of the well-known Auboise artist Blanche Odin (1865-1957) settled in Maubourguet. Madeleine Doubrère created many works mainly floral still lifes, inspired by the surrounding nature.
