Rembrandt Harmensz Van Rijn, known simply as Rembrandt 1606-1669, was a Dutch painter and printmaker. He is one of the greatest painters and printmakers of European art history.
The print comes from a private collection in France.
This excellent-quality etching was made between 1860 and 1880 on Japanese paper, as the original.
Historically, many collectors stamped or signed the prints they acquired, known as 'collectors marks', and some of this collection bears the title handwritten in French below the engraving.
