Large Silver And Bronze Chalice With Symbols Of The Passion – 19th Century
Our spectacular Baroque-style chalice is richly decorated. Three finely depicted angels are seated at its base. The first holds the veil of the Holy Face, the second presents us with the Holy Crown and the last claims a Holy Nail.
The shaft is supported by three standing and praying angels. Finally, the tulip cup rests on a floral decoration and other instruments of the Passion, namely the rooster of Saint Peter, the dice of the Roman players and the Holy Tunic.
Silver-gilt cup with master's mark with the initials of L and D.
Very good condition.
Dimensions of 30 cm high by 14 cm in diameter at the base.
