The context depicted, already highly poetic in itself with the elegant silhouette of the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore in backlight, offers the viewer a dreamlike vision, where absolute quiet is the protagonist of the canvas.
The painting is signed and dated by the French artist Baron Deslanders E.A.(1832 - 1917), a painter of whom there is little information except for a few passages of his works at auctions, often with Venetian views.
