Emilio Grau i Sala,
known as Emilio Grau Sala, born June 22, 1911 in Barcelona and died June 21, 1975 in Barcelona is a Spanish painter, theater designer and illustrator. He came to France in 1932. In 1936, he married the painter Ángeles Santos Torroella.
His style is notable colorist (oils and watercolors, pastels) and illustrator, he is a member of Maurice Boitel's group at the Salon Comparaisons.
Emilio Grau Sala has illustrated several books: Les Fleurs du mal by Baudelaire, Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert, Bel-Ami by Guy de Maupassant, the Claudine series by Colette; In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust, Written on Water by Francis de Miomandre, and has produced lithographs, engravings and posters.
