Rare 17th Century Crucifixion Painting On Slate

Antique Italian painting from the second half of the 17th century. Oil on slate artwork difficult to find given the very rare support. Painting of notable pictorial quality depicting a magnificent crucifixion. In a leaden sky, Christ stands out in the center, then we recognize the Madonna on the left, St. John the Evangelist on the right and the Magdalene at the foot of the cross. It has an initials in the lower right in the study phase. 20th century frame in carved wood, with some signs of aging. Overall painting in excellent state of conservation. Internal size H 55 x W 44 cm.
