Under the window, on a fabric as a curtain: "Elizabeth de Gouy / Wife of Hyacinthe Rigaud, / Ecuier noble cito[y]en of Perpignan, / Knight of the order of S[ain]t Michel, / Rect[eur]r and former Director of the Acad[émi]e / Royale de peintre[u]re Sculpture." Under the square line, respectively on the left and right: "painted by Hyacinthe Rigaud, knight of the order of S[ain]t Michel - Engraved by Jean George Will in Paris 1743.
