Superb pair of large wrought iron gallows in the Louis XVI style, 20th century. Gallows with strong scrollwork with a decoration of acanthus leaves, fire pot and rosettes. Superb quality, very heavy and solid. Typically Louis XVI gallows with a Greek motif in the lower part topped with a fire pot. Solid base with a very thick fixing plate. The squares are made of solid iron 15 mm square. These gallows can support the weight of large, very heavy lanterns. H: 125 cm, D: 91 cm, E: 6.3 cm. Fixing plate: 40.5 x 14 cm.
