JAPAN - Edo period (1603-1868) Maetate representing an Oni head in carved boxwood, the forehead centered by a long wavy horn imitating deer antlers, it is framed by two large red lacquered ears (slight lack at the tip of the right ear), golden eyes. Dimensions: 21 x 16 x 8 cm. Sold with its base. Kabuto is not sold with maetate. Dimensions with the base: 39 x 16 x 9 cm.
