"Display Figuring Pantheus And Abradate Service Called “for Strong Women” Atelier Des Laudin "
Enameled copper Diam.: 12.7 cm Round and hollow display stand in enameled copper, centered with a round medallion depicting a scene from the animated tragedy of Pantheus, a dagger in her chest and her late husband Abradate, killed in combat, in her arms. The scene, surrounded by a thin black band, is titled "Pantha" in gold capital letters at the bottom, in the center. The concave border is decorated with a polychrome frieze of floral scrolls on a pale blue background. The reverse is centered in black enamel decorated with gold threads. This display stand, or saucer, comes from a hot drinks service called "strong women", inspired by notable female figures from the Bible.
