Bronze wall sculpture (bas relief, fresco) depicting, in a stylized expressionist and brutalist manner, a mermaid and centaur. By Ottó Kopcsányi, circa 1950. In perfect condition. Biography: Born in Budapest in 1933, Hungarian goldsmith and sculptor. From 1953 to 1958: Hungarian Academy of Applied Arts, masters: Miklós Borsos, Gyula Illés. Between 1960 and 1964, he was a teaching assistant at the Hungarian Academy of Applied Arts. Between 1969 and 1971, he was secretary of the gold division of the Association of Hungarian Artists and Industrial Artists. Between 1974 and 1988, he was the specialist lecturer on gold at the Art Fund. From 1992 to 1995, specialist secretary on gold at the Hungarian Foundation for Creative Arts. He designs and creates utilitarian objects, bronze medals, sculptures and awards. In 2003: Ferenczy Noémi Prize. He died in 2016.
