Superb large ivory toothpick box, opening with a hinge and push button, decorated with three oval miniatures representing different scenes of cherubs with animals (holding a dog on a leash, riding a lion playing the lyre, crying over a butterfly burning itself with a torch), circled with smooth steel and faceted steel beads.

Lid and bottom circled with a row of faceted steel beads.

Mercury mirror inside the lid, bottom lining in soft green velvet.

Very good condition, the miniatures and their domed glasses are in perfect condition, the faceted steel is very sparkling.

Period 18th century circa 1780.

Please note: a few cracks without consequences, and little stains on the mirror.
