Large Fukagawa porcelain vase decorated with imperial cranes, symbols of longevity and good fortune. On a royal blue background of strong purity and intensity. The cranes' beaks are enhanced with gold, as is the rim. The legs are in silver. Signature underneath. Japan, circa 1960, 28 x 9 x 7 cm. With the original signed box. A piece of great elegance and exceptional know-how, typical of the work of the famous Arita Fukagawa family of ceramicists. The Fukagawa family has been operating a ceramics business in Arita since the 17th century. Fukagawa Seiji was founded in 1894 by Tadatsugu Fukagawa.
