Trained at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Lyon, Louis Touchagues first worked as a decorator and fabric designer.
Noticed by Paul Poiret who encouraged him in the path of painting, he then participated in numerous Salons and exhibited at Katia Granoff.
Louis Touchagues became the portraitist of Tout-Paris in the 1930s.
His talent as a draftsman is also revealed in the illustration of many texts: Verlaine, Colette, Marcel Aymé, Maurois ...
