Daybed, or guest bed, or alcove, which can be used as a sofa, from the Louis XVI period around 1780,in remarkable condition of the painted lacquer and all its fabric trim**. The decorative ornamental sculptures in the Greek style combine wonderfully with the work of upholstery in thickness called "in tableau". The 4 walls of the bed, the quilted bedspread, the two bolsters and the front of the long side are elegantly covered with a very high quality Louis XVI style toile de Jouy fabric with fine printed patterns of ships in combat, quivers with flags and drums on floral patterns, stylized initials and cartridges, in a raspberry color on a light background dotted with pretty floral patterns. This daybed has a new mattress made to measure, in impeccable condition having never been used, but without a box spring because it can be placed on straps. The bed uprights are attached to the long sides from the outside with its 4 original lag screws.
