"Statue Fetish Mumuye Chamba Nigeria Benué "
Rare Mumuye or Chamba statue, from Nigeria. We find all the strongly geometric style of the Mumuye statues, in particular the zig-zag arms and legs. Beautiful earth-red patina and significant traces of use, this statue is old and has visibly been used, note the indigenous restoration at the beak, the finesse of the arms detached from the body which represents a real technical feat of sculpture. A large hole crosses it at the temples, it could be a hole dug to thread a stick to carry the statue without touching it! Height 53 cm, exceptional object that deserves in-depth study!
