Beautiful living room magic lantern, HELIOS model from the E. Mazo establishments, 8 Boulevard Magenta, in Paris.* late 19th century, around 1900 *
Beautiful model whose mobile mechanical part, mainly in solid brass, offers several adjustment possibilities; focusing by wheel connected to helical screw located at the front of the lens and by a key-shaped earpiece, just below the lens for adjusting the focal length. Visually and when handling this lantern "breathes" a high quality of manufacture, it is heavy and nicely crafted.
Our lantern is in good condition, however the lamp burner and the chimney are missing.
