LOLA DI VITO “Large studio plaster” sculpture bust of a woman, unique piece, ca 1970. Lola Di Vito is a renowned contemporary painter and sculptor from Italy, she is also the student and more than likely the muse of Georges dit Géo De Vlamynck, a famous Belgian multidisciplinary artist who was among others the teacher of Nicolas De Stael. Born in Milan, she developed a passion for art and sculpture at an early age. She studied at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, where she refined her skills and distinctive style. Her artistic approach is distinguished by a mix of realism and abstraction, creating pieces that captivate and question the viewer. More than 40 exhibitions, among others in Brussels, Ixelles, Theux, Liège, Anderlecht, Deurle, Ghent, Wannegem-Lede, Charleroi, Namur, Luxembourg, Sint-Martens-Latem, Köln, Heidelberg, Grimaux, Graz, Murnau, Bomburg and Kronberg (last 4 in the GDR). As part of Euro Arts in Paris, Barbizon, Oosterbeek, the Netherlands and England (Christchurch). Exhibition 2018 in Kruishoutem. For her work as a painter, she has received 22 awards, including: First prize with great distinction at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Liège in 1970 Watercolour prize in Ligny in 1972 Honorary distinction and diploma of Grand Officer of the Arts in Europe in 1972 Prize of the Vice-Governor Cappuyns (Willemsfonds – Brabant) 1975 Prize of the province of Limburg, “Garve” competition in 1976 Honorary distinction and diploma of Grand Officer of professional designers of Belgium in 1978.
