This is a perfect Barbizon example of the works produced by the painter in the 1870s, which offers all the elements sought after by collectors, included a character, as well as a subtly placed light.
We no longer present Jules DUPRE, a major painter of the Barbizon school alongside Théodore ROUSSEAU, COROT and Charles-François DAUBIGNY, present in many museums and sought after by collectors and galleries around the world !
He is rightly considered one of the greatest French landscape painters of the 19th century !
PAY ATTENTION: The painters of the Barbizon school were extremely copied, I estimate at 99% the number of fake COROT, 90% of fake DAUBIGNY, ROUSSEAU and Jules DUPRÉ !!
Of course, these many fakes are sold everywhere, whether on the internet or in auction houses, at obviously attractive prices...
I say it and repeat it, in vain alas when I see the naivety / greed of many buyers, do not buy anything from anyone !!!
