Rare and beautiful copy in its 4to binding in blind-stamped vellum (parchment), spine ribbed decorated with friezes, covers framed with a motif in its center; printed in 1747 in Teutrecht (Utrecht): "Algemeene Histori" Befchreven door een Gezelscharp Van Geleerde Mannen in England; containing the Histories of the Romans, from the death of the Emperor Donitian to the death of the Emperor Valens. A magnificent engraved title by JC Philips 1747, a dedication to Jacob Henrik with the coat of arms, two-color title; a map Thracise Bosphorus and Constantinople divided into distits unfolding, image of various pillars (including the pillar of the serpent), Hippodrome or hippodrome; Solimannia founded by Sultan Suleiman & a view of the Church of Saint Sophia (Hagia Sofia) all in off-text leaflets....
