Large canvas by Dominique Rozier "return from fishing" format 113cm x 70cm, oil on canvas signed lower left, keyed frame, we can see on this still life with fish conger mullet gurnard eel mussels etc and on the background of the painting the net. Dominique Rozier, born November 21, 1840 in Paris where he died November 6, 1901, is a French painter. Hubert Dominique Jean Rozier is the son of Louis Joseph Rozier and Marie Anne Greffin. A student of Antoine Vollon, he exhibited at the Salon from 1869 to 1902. In 1864, he married Laure Madeleine Bourgeois. Painter of flowers and still life, he received a third-class medal in 1876, and a second-class medal in 1880. In 1901, he was distinguished as an officer of agricultural merit. He died at his home on Boulevard de Clichy, at the age of 60. He was buried in the Père-Lachaise cemetery on November 8, 1901. References
