Condition : very good condition.
History :
the long oval clasp is quite typical of the chains that held the pocket watches, still widely used at the beginning of the 20th Century. The presence of a patriotic medal with a canon, rather masculin subject, even if it was added later, seems to support this hypothesis. The transformation into necklace would only be later.
The medal would be a patriotic medal rather from the beginning of the 1st World War. It would date back to the time when France, confident of itself, its men and its equipment, celebrated its innovations and thought that it would win the war quickly. The trenches will destroy this beautiful hope.
