"Pheasant Maker Daubière Chaponniere - Bronze - Louis XIV - France End Of 17th Early 18th"
Faisandière or Daubière or Chaponniere, Louis XIV, oval tripod in bronze, with a crenellated lid with a U-shaped handle, from the end of the 17th / beginning of the 18th century. Superb daubière in patinated bronze, with an oval-shaped body resting on three quadrangular feet with a flattened base. Lid with cut crenellations and rectangular handles with beveled angles This pheasant pot is a beautiful object, in bronze (old bronze). Marvelous work of a French or Swiss founder. Thanks to a lid that fits over the entire height of the container, this daubière, pheasant pot or chaponniere guarantees a perfect seal during cooking. With its three high feet, it can be placed directly on the embers. Its lid has a finely crenellated edge, allowing embers to be placed on it, or a wet cloth to increase condensation in the container. There is a similar one in the Swiss Alimentarium Museum dated 1715. No founder's mark. Good condition, no cracks or breakages,
