Material ceramic Size 20x38x9 cm The Ditmar-Urbach factory in Trnova was founded in 1885 by brothers Alfred and Otto Urbach. The original assortment mainly included ceramic figurines, later utilitarian ceramics. The goods also included vases, stands, planters, flower bowls or decorative bases for lamps. After 1901, sanitary equipment such as washbasins, toilets or urinals appeared. In 1924, the Teplice factory became part of a joint stock company, which also included Rudolf Ditmar's Znojmo company. Since then, we have been registering the name Ditmar - Urbach. The year 1932 marks a crucial period, when the company develops considerably and begins to work with the special material "Vitreous China", which, in comparison with the porous sandstone used until then, is characterized by hardness, strength, non-absorption and durable varnish. The company patents this substance under the brand name Diturvit, which it uses until 2005. At first, when promoting a new product, the company demonstrates its quality by loading it with a weight of several tons. Success is not long in coming and the Trnova ambulance gains sales not only throughout Europe, but also in Asia, Africa and North and South America.
