Pair of spectacular flat-backed armchairs à la Reine. End of the period, Regency in fruity wood (walnut or cherry) molded and richly carved. Decorated with shells, acanthus leaves and florets, the back à la Reine, the armrests with cuffs. They rest on four arched legs. Needlepoint tapestry decorated with scenes from La Fontaine's Fables. Early Louis XV period. Note: ideal for a castle or a beautiful residence or a hotel. They are spectacular and of rare elegance, these two seats, in Eol, make an 18th century decor, I highly recommend it. Note: (traces of insects, plan for treatment with woodworms). This type of armchair was brought up to date by Queen Marie Leczinska (1703 - 1768), wife of Louis XV. The armchair à la Reine is a Louis XV and Louis XVI style seat characterized by its flat backrest (rectangular, square, oval, violin-shaped). The shape of this armchair gives it an ideal place along a wall.
