The furniture rightfully belongs to the best neoclassical production of the Genoese area: a relationship confirmed by comparison with many similar carving works dating back to around the eighth decade of the 18th century. The executive quality makes it emblematic of the Genoese adherence to the influence of the nearby Turin Court, but above all of the French, Parisian in particular, craftsmen.
In particular, the sumptuous and elegant neoclassicism that distinguishes it, draws inspiration from the French prototypes designed by Jean-Charles Delafosse (1734-179) and made known in Genoa by the architect Charles De Wailly, engaged since 1770 in the modernization of Palazzo Spinola in Strada Nuova.
The console has its original lacquer and gilding, as well as the beautiful marble top.
Very good state of conservation.
