Cappé has devoted his life to the creation and realization of porcelain works, which are appreciated all over the world especially in the United States. Part of his works are now in many private collections and museums.Cappè is an artist who drew inspiration from the strands of the great Italian Baroque-Alexandrian folk tradition, of which Serpotta’s (Palermo) stuccoes, Capodimonte productions and Neapolitan mangers are the typical and well-known examples.
Cappè combines the Baroque root with the verist and neoclassical folk traditions, combining this with an original commitment to humorous invention.
Cappè’s verismo has already made history: it is recognizable and acknowledged; it has achieved perfection of craft and the seal of invention in the realm of high creative craftsmanship.
Cappè trained as a sculptor in the employ of others, then began the business of producing his sculptures on his own beginning in 1958.
He created about 250 models continuously throughout his life, and sculpture was the greatest motive of life for him
