Two-door Wardrobe In Solid Walnut

Beautiful two-door wardrobe in solid walnut, late 16th century, early 17th century, Piedmont. 

The wardrobe has two doors and is embellished with rich sculpted decorations and refined details. The upper part of the wardrobe is characterized by a refined cymatium, with a molded frame and dentil carvings. Below the frame, a decorative band features sculpted leaf and grape motifs. The two large front doors are decorated with richly sculpted panels. The central decorative motifs depict eight-pointed stars, enclosed in a relief-shaped frame. Each panel is surrounded by details that accentuate the importance of the central decorations, giving a sense of symmetry and harmony to the piece of furniture. On the sides of the doors, the wardrobe is embellished with carved pillars which culminate in capitals. Under the capitals, you can see sculpted figures depicting cherubs. Finally it has feet sculpted in the shape of masks.
