"The church at the crossroads". Oil on canvas signed lower left Alexis Kalaeff and located in Paris. (French school). 55 X 46 cm. Alexis Kalaeff (1902-1978) was born in Russia. He was a student at the Odessa School of Fine Arts between 1918 and 1919. From 1926, he attended the classes of Achille Émile Othon Friesz (1879-1949) at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière. He participated in the Salon des Tuileries, the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon des Artistes français. He was an active member of the École de Paris. Solid oak frame from the period.
