Wooden model of the Saint-Géran made famous by the novel by Bernardin de Saint Pierre "Paul et Virginie" who made it the setting for the end of his novel. The Saint Géran was shipwrecked in 1744 during its fourth voyage (see the very complete history on Wikipedia.) This model, made by one of the famous workshops of Mauritius, dates from the 1970s., few losses, no restorations, paintings remained very fresh, rigging in good condition., beautiful figurehead.
